• A powerful composition that gains particular intensity from the radiance of the color and the contrast between surface and structure.
• Förg's combines seemingly opposites: the geometric rigor of the composition with the gestural spontaneity of the vibrant application of paint.
• A fine example of Förg's masterful play with the adaptation of art-historical traditions: In addition to Blinky Palermo, Förg refers to the American post-war art of Barnett Newman or Brice Marden.
• In 2014, the Museum Brandhorst, Munich, presented a first posthumous retrospective of the artist's work, followed by a show at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, and the Dallas Museum of Art in 2018, as well as a major retrospective at the Long Museum, Shanghai, in 2023.
