• Already part of an exhibition at the Städtisches Kunstmuseum Duisburg during the artist's lifetime.
• In the year of its creation, Heckel worked intensively on depictions of the Allgäu mountain landscape.
• In the same year, Heckel created the similar painting "Kleines Talende" (Vogt 1923/II) as well as watercolors of the impressive mountain panorama.

The work is registered in the Erich Heckel Estate, Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance. We are grateful to Mrs. Renate Ebner and Mr. Hans Geissler for their kind support in cataloging this lot.
