Focillon 31. Hind 8 II (of III). Robison 34 IV (of V). Signed and Roman numbered in plate. Excellent strong impression on laid paper with broad margin around platemark and usual centerfold. 55 x 40,3 cm (21,6 x 15,8 in). Sheet: 90 x 60 cm (35,4 x 23,6 in).
State of second edition, which Piranesi published himself and increased it from fourteen to sixteen sheets. The third volume of this second edition was published from the mid 1760s to the early 1770s. [CB].
