Butin only knew of 6 trial proofs before the catalogue raisonné was published. Our sheet is different from those in terms of the wide, dark-greyish rear, which surrounds the image and illustrates the artistic reflexion during the making before the edition. [JS].
Accompanied by a confirmation from Hubertus Butin, Cologne, dated 2 August 2006, who will take the work into a further edition of his catalog raisonné of editions from 2004.
