Johann Elert Bode, director of the Berlin observatory as of 1786, became famous for being the theoretic discoverer (literally "calculator") of the planet Uranus. His second celestial atlas, the "Uranographia", self-published in 1801, is regarded a masterpiec of artistic celestail cartography. [CM].
