Important account of the first occupation of the Portuguese colony Diu in India, written by the great Portuguese humanist Damianus de Goes (1502-1574). - Broad margins slightly foxed in places and with 2 small waterstains. Joints and spine with small blemishes. Well-preserved copy with ownership entry by Marcus Fugger (1529-1597), son and heir of the famous banker Anton Fugger. Besides the continuation of his father's possessions, Markus Fugger was a particularly renowned patron and book collector.

Very rare first edition with the account of the second siege of the Portuguese colony Diu in India. Not in Palau and Adams. With 2 emblematical woodcut printer's devices (rep.). Contemp. limp vellum. - Minor foxing in the wide margins, partly 2 small waterstains; joints and spine with small defects. Good copy, on front pastedown with ms. ownership entry of Marcus Fugger, son of the founder of the famous financial Fugger empire in Germany Anton Fugger.
