Karl Otto Götz is one of the most important representatives of Informalism in Germany. He was the first German artist to join the artists' group "CoBrA" and founded the revolutionary Frankfurt "Quadriga" together with the painters Bernard Schultze, Otto Greis and Heinz Kreutz in 1952. Götz's oeuvre is characterized by a combination of intuition and control. Through this combination, he created expressive works such as the present work which has a fascinating effect due to a dynamic yet balanced composition. Under the impression of a trip to Scandinavia, he created a series of works with titles in Norwegian. Without any direct reference to content, they refer to rivers, lakes, waterfalls, islands or city names in slightly different spelling.

In good condition. Minimally rubbed in places.
