• Schmidt-Rottluff masterfully reduced the facial features of the sitter to a few clear elements in the characteristic black and white contrast.
• In no other printmaking medium did Karl Schmidt-Rottluff realize his ideas of expressionist graphic art as consistently as in the woodcut.

In good condition. Small brown spots and rubbings, predominantly in the broad margins. Sheet edges with tiny creases, lower right corner with smoothed creases and the left sheet edge with a small, professionally backed tear.
