Postcard to Kurt Schmidt, the artist´s brother. With the postage stamp of Schawe/Pomerania from August 30, 1920 and inscribed with greeting and the date "11.1." by Gertrud Schmidt (artist´s sister), Karl and Emy Schmidt-Rottluff and Rosa Schapire: "Herzlichste letzte Grüsse von Jershöft Deine Trudi / Herzlichsten Gruss! D. K. / Wie geht´s Dir denn - mit herzlichstem Gruss Deine Emy / Noch einmal viele Grüsse Ihre Rosa Schapire". [CH].
• Today, the self-designed postcards by the "Brücke" artists are considered an independent group of works with a special art-historical significance.
• Document of Schmidt-Rottluff´s stay in Jershöft in 1920, which was a particular source of inspiration for the artist in the summer and fall months and to which he returned regularly until 1931.
• Emy and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff apparently spent these months on the Baltic Sea with "Trudi" [Gertrud Schmidt], the artist´s sister, and the German art historian, collector and author Rosa Schapire, who was a great patron of the "Brücke" artists and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff in particular, as well as his closest confidante.
• Comparable postcards by the artist can be found in, among others, the collections of the Berlinische Galerie Museum für moderne Kunst, Berlin, the Brücke-Museum, Berlin, and the Museum Ludwig, Cologne.
