This work offered here is a preliminary gouache for the painting "Nydel" from the same year. The works "Nydel", "Otella" and "Sylphide" form the base of the important work series "Giverny" (1986/1989). In both the paintings and the preparatory gouaches Götz puts the chromatic field between black biomorphic forms. The artist has a strong interest in this new and high-contrast composition and the juxtaposition of color values: Following the works mentioned above, the series "Giverny" came into existence, boasting various chromatics and entirely doing without black. [CH]

In good condition, colors in strong and fresh impression. Minimal isolated traces of rubbing. With isolated spots of slight craquelure and isolated clodded spots.
