The motif of the cow can be found in numerous studies by Wilhelm Busch from the 1880s (cf. Gmelin 652 - 691). [CB].

Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by professor L. [Elisabeth] Nöldeke on 5 December, 1926 (laminated on rear; her husband Adolf Nöldeke was a nephew of Wilhelm Busch).
