• Particularly free interpretation of the vast and flat marsh landscape around Utenwarf, the artist's home at that time.
• The artist renders the Northern German landscape in a colors which are rarely found in his oeuvre.
• With the characteristic wet-in-wet technique and the dynamic, almost gestural color application Nolde creates a landscape depiction between closeness to nature and a mystical-mysterious effect.
