The watercolor served as a model for the woodcut of the same name, released in vol. 2 of the "Alpenlandschaften", published by J.J. Weber in Leipzig (cf. Brandes, Jürgen and Sibylle: Edward Theodore Compton - Maler und Bergsteiger, Munich 2007, p. 318, illu. 505).
The work is registered in the sales register of E.T. Compton under the no. 622 and the title "Die Gipfelstürmer". [CM].
