Grützke executed this work not in the classic characteristic duct and perspective of Realism, he allows the depicted persons their own artistic view. Placed in front of a mirror showing a classy ambience, the Wolfensberger family is portrayed with a dog and a bronze by Dimitri Chiparus, their eyes turned to the observer - just like for a photograph - a contrived reality, fully in the sense of Grützke's imagery at that time.
