• From the heyday of the "Brücke" are, the genesis of German Expressionism.
• Kirchner puts the famous Dresden landmark at the heart of this composition.
• The nickname 'Blaues Wunder' (Blue Wonder) for the Loschwitz Bridge comes from the bridge's blue coat of paint, and was used in contemporary publications from around the time it was built (1893) as well as for the work offered here
.
