Not in Soika. Signed and barely legibly dated in lower right. Verso signed, titled and inscribed with the artist's address . 51 x 65 cm (20 x 25.5 in).

• In the 1920's Pechstein found his new painter's paradise in the remote Pommeranian fishing villages of Rowe and Leba
• Shown in a museum exhibitions the year it was made and rediscovered in a Saxonian private collection in 2018
• A similar painting from 1929 with the title "Ostseelandschaft" is in possession of the State Art Collections Dresden

With an art-historic expertise from Prof. Dr. Aya Soika, Berlin, issued on February 25, 2018. While the work was unknown when the catalog raisonné was compiled, it is now registered at the unpublished archive of the Max-Pechstein-Urheberrechtsgemeinschaft, as well as at the archive of Prof. Dr. Aya Soika with the painting number 1928/17.

PROVENANCE: Deutsche Kunstgemeinschaft, Berlin (1928, verso with the stamp).
Private collection (acquired from aforementioned in 1928).

EXHIBITION: Deutsche Kunstgemeinschaft, exhibition at Berliner Stadtschloss, November 1928 (with a barely legible stamp and the number "4224" on the stretcher).
